October 19, 2012 – KSJ and Associates, Inc. (KSJ) was awarded a four year contract valued at $7.6M by the United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity to provide support to the Defense Health Information Management System (DHIMS) program office. KSJ will provide program management support services for the Defense Blood Standard System (DBSS) and Enterprise Blood Management System (EBMS) programs, and those blood asset capabilities within the Theater Data Medical Store (TDMS) and the Medical Situational Awareness in the Theater (MSAT) products.
As the acquisition office for centrally managed Military Health System (MHS) clinical information systems, DHIMS is responsible for development, implementation and management of the MHS standard blood management information systems to ensure seamless and accurate capture, management and sharing of health information from the Theater of Operations to the continental United States fixed sites. Together the DBSS, EBMS, TDMS and MSAT support the collection, processing, distribution, tracking, and reporting of blood products, donors and recipients. The EBMS program also includes the strategic technology modernization project to enhance the Department of Defense (DoD) Blood Program capabilities for Donor Center and Blood Bank/Transfusion Services.
